Elegant red wine from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec
Red wine from French Bordeaux. Matured in oak and with a soft, elegant taste. Delicious with fine meat dishes such as beef tenderloin or veal, but also tasty with soft cream cheese.
The Bordeaux blend
The wine of the Château du Couvent comes from vineyards located in the world-famous Pomerol, part of Bordeaux. These wines are known for their softness combined with refinement. The grape varieties for Château du Couvent are mainly Merlot (70%) supplemented with 30% Cabernet Franc and Malbec. After fermentation, the red wine matures for approximately 18 months in small oak barrels, one quarter of which is renewed annually. Château du Couvent belongs to the much older Clos René with which the wine cellar is shared.
