Description

The red Nótios is mainly made from the Greek top grape agiorgitiko and has recently been supplemented with 15% ripe Syrah grapes. The style of this smooth and drinkable wine undeniably resembles an elegant Italian sangiovese, but is significantly rounder in taste.

The small vineyard is located in the hills of the Nemea area on the Peloponnese. The small, modern producer Gaia Estate is considered one of the top players here. Winemakers Yiannis (trained in Bordeaux) and Leon (agriculturist) choose to preserve fruit and suppleness and do not let the wine mature in oak barrels.

This makes the Nótios, with its refined fruitiness, very suitable for serving slightly cool on hot days (maximum 17 to 18 degrees). So much purity and quality in the glass pays off: Gaia Estate is a successful exporter of authentic Greek wine.
