Description

Mouchaõ is one of the great classics in the Portuguese wine world. A wine estate of 38 hectares, owned by the Reynolds family since 1901, where time has stood still and which was only connected to electricity in 1991. Here wine is made without haste, like in the past. The hand-picked grapes are still pressed with the feet in lagares, large open fermentation tanks, and then slowly fermented. The top wine Mouchão is internationally recognized as one of the very best Portuguese wines. Ponte das Canas is more accessible, more elegant and ready to drink earlier. After the fermentation of the Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Franca, this great wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels and another 12 months in the bottle before shipping.
