French full-bodied red wine. Fine and intense aroma with ripe berry fruit and light herbs. Excellent with spiced dishes, both stewed and grilled.

Here too Michel succeeds in drawing inspiration from the most famous northern Rhône wine Côte Rôtie. Just like with this great example he adds a few percent of viognier to the syrah which gives the wine a pleasant accessibility.

For this red wine too, buds and unripe grapes are cut away. As a result, far fewer but riper grapes are harvested. After manual harvesting, a classic vinification follows, followed by nine months of maturation in French oak barrels. This is top quality syrah, concentrated, accessible and fresh.

In art terms, Michel Gassier could be called a master forger. This talented producer of Costières de Nîmes copies the expensive
(35 euros+) Northern Rhône wines Côte Rôtie and Condrieu.
