Cabernet Sauvignon meets Primitivo
Deep red wine from southern Italy with the aroma of stewed fruit and new oak. Great wine to drink as it is. But the full, soft taste also combines well with spicy dishes, pizza or barbecue dishes.
Angelo Maci
Angelo Maci is not only an excellent winemaker but also a man of vision. He started a small cooperative in 1989 to give his native Salento in southern Apulia the recognition it deserves. In the meantime - almost 25 years later - Cantine Due Palme has grown into one of the leading wine companies in southern Italy.
Angelo's top wine the Selvarossa has already achieved the highest rating in the Gambero Rosso three times. But there's more! Such as the red Tenuta Albrizzi with the unusual but very successful combination of cabernet sauvignon and the indigenous primitivo grape for the region. These grapes are picked by hand and visually selected for quality before fermentation.
The wine then matures for six months in small casks of the finest quality oak from the French department of Allier and the Tronçais forest. The full, round and slightly spicy taste harmonizes beautifully with the noble and luxurious oak scent and taste. If you like rich full red wine with a soft taste, then this is an absolute must. Awarded a gold medal at the 2014 Vinitaly wine competition.
