Pinot Noir from the Rheinhessen

Christoph and Johannes Thörle make incredibly tasty pinot noir in the northern part of Rheinhessen on limestone-rich soil.

Insiders consider the winery of the two talented brothers to be the fastest growing domain in Rheinhessen. The journalists from Wine Enthusiast Wine Advocate Gault & Millau and Feinschmecker, among others, follow developments closely and assess the Thörle wines extremely positively.

The grapes for this wine are harvested as late as possible - often not until the end of October - and picked by hand to obtain the best possible quality. Spätburgunder is a delicate grape and the moment of harvest has a major influence on the style of the wine. The Thörle brothers look for finesse and an optimal balance between acidity, aromatic intensity and ripeness.

After alcoholic fermentation, the wine matures for approximately ten months in used oak barrels. The subdued wood aroma supports the refined fruit aromas and is beautifully dosed.

Truly a very nice Spätburgunder that will appeal to many Burgundy lovers, but also a nice introduction for Pinot Noir debutants.
