Borgo di Colloredo Sangiovese
Delicious pure red house wine from Molise made from ripe Sangiovese grapes. Fresh round and juicy. Also delicious slightly chilled with the barbecue and lightly spiced dishes.
This red wine for everyday life also shows quality and character. The Sangiovese grape grown by the Di Giulio brothers is the basis of top Tuscan wines such as Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico.
But this grape also has a downside: in changing climatic conditions and high yields, the grapes ripen insufficiently and a moderate Chianti can taste sharply sour and drying. However, is the return limited and is the climate warm and favorable as in Molise? Then the sangiovese ripens completely and the base wine is also wonderfully soft and accessible.
Enrico di Giulio of the Borgo di Colloredo wine estate has understood this well and makes a delicious red wine. This vintage has even been able to gain some quality because Enrico was able to harvest the grapes later.
In addition, it shortened the skin contact during fermentation. The result is remarkable: the wine tastes smoother and has more beautiful fruit tones. This is Italian everyday wine at its best! Lightly chilled even better in summer.
