Tasting note Gros Manseng Moelleux
French white wine with the scent of ripe fruit and a slightly sweet, fresh taste. Delicious with different types of pate but also very tasty as a chilled aperitif.
Description
This semi-sweet white wine is made from the Gros Manseng grape variety. The vineyards are located in Gascony in the south-west of France. The producer Gilles Baumann used to mainly make Armagnac (distilled) but has now largely and with great success switched to making white wines. His Gros Manseng moelleux fits completely in the tradition of the Sud-Ouest, where many slightly sweet white wines are drunk. This wine pairs perfectly with the regional dish foie gras. The south-west of France is becoming increasingly known as a supplier of special white and red wines. Regions such as Gascony, Jurançon, Madiran and Cahors now have a very good reputation among wine lovers.
