Wine production has been going on for centuries in Catalunya, the region with its own designation of origin, just north of Barcelona. In the past, mainly white wine was made, which was used for the traditionally important production of sparkling wines. That has changed significantly since the 1980s. The Mediterranean climate with the vineyards located at an average height of 400 meters also turned out to be very suitable for making red wines. The proof is provided by this full-bodied red wine made from garnacha tinotorera. The wine also matured briefly in oak barrels. Serving tip: in summer the wine tastes best slightly chilled.
