Trentham Estate & the Murphys
The River Retreat wines come from Trentham Estate. The Murphy family owns Trentham Estate with 45 hectares of vineyards in Murray Darling located in the south-east of Australia. The oldest vineyard is over 60 years old. The family also buys grapes from friendly winegrowers in the area.
The white Chardonnay and red Cabernet-Shiraz are oak-aged and are characterized by a striking suppleness. No heavy, intense wines, but wonderfully digestible and full of flavor.
