Nero D'Avola
Bright red color, beautifully fragrant with ripe fruit tones, some caramel and mild spices. The taste is full and balanced and develops a mild tannin and aromatic final.
Minini Sicilia Terre di Giumara
Nero d'Avola is the most widely planted blue grape variety in Sicily. Nero indicates the intense dark color of the skin and therefore also of the wine. The grape is said to have originated in the town of Avola, on the southeast coast of the island, south of Syracuse.
In the hands of skilled winemakers, this grape variety gives good results throughout the island. At Caruso & Minini, the grapes for this Nero d'Avola are harvested by hand and the wine is fermented in steel tanks. Subsequently, one third of the wine matures in barriques for four months, while the rest remains in steel tanks.
The result: a pleasant balance between juiciness and firmness. Combine it with classic Italian dishes such as pasta with tomato sauce, pizza or roasted meat. Also nice to drink as is, with or without some salumi (Italian meats) on the side.
