Fumane the wine region of the Valpolicella

Tiziano Accordini's small successful family business makes a delicious full red wine from grapes from a newly purchased terrace vineyard. The Terrazza del Maestro vineyard is located at an altitude of about 400 meters near the town of Fumane in the heart of the Valpolicella wine region. The vineyard is only four hectares in size and planted with 90% corvina and 10% rondinella grapes.

Tiziano brings a lot of flexibility to the wine by harvesting the grapes as late as possible and allowing the second malolactic fermentation to take place in oak barrels. During this fermentation, the oak gives a very pleasant, creamy, round taste that is further enhanced by a maturation period of approximately four months in the same barrels. The result is a full-bodied red wine with an unusual thickness and roundness for regular Valpolicella.
