Tasting note Azienda Rizzi Barbaresco
Elegant Italian red wine with the fine scent of flowers and candied red fruit. The round, fresh taste - after decanting - matches excellently with refined dishes of game or beef.
Description
Rizzi is known for his classic way of making wine, without using new oak or small barrels. After manual harvest and fermentation, the wine is matured for twelve months in large 5,000 liter barrels. After this, Rizzi pumps the wine into concrete vats where the wine remains for another eight months. The result is a refined, elegant style of barbaresco with ripe tannins and beautiful ripening notes of the nebbiolo grape. Very typical of the region and not disturbed by oak odor and taste. The name Rizzi comes from one of the four crus in Barbaresco and the thirty-five hectare domain is owned by Enrico and Jole Dellapiana.
