Bodegas Trenza Somontano Mont Clou Chardonnay Sur Lie 2023

The talented Danish Tofterup brothers of Bodegas Trenza make this seductive, modern Chardonnay from high-altitude vineyards in Somontano, at the foot of the Spanish Pyrenees.

This cool area with a lot of lime in the soil is ideally suited for white wine production and Chardonnay is the specialty here. That gives Somontano a bright future, because there are more and more Chardonnay lovers who like freshness and find the buttery, thick varieties too heavy.



The seductive Mont Clou matures on the yeasts (sur lie), partly in small oak barrels (20%). This is more than enough for a refined wood dosage that perfectly supports the exotic fruit aromas of pineapple and mango.

The taste is full and creamy, but also retains the natural freshness that characterizes the better Somontano wines. The Mont Clou is therefore a wonderful aperitif wine and meal companion.
