Many lovers of beautiful red Rhône wine have already discovered this must-see from the Ventoux last year. Frédéric and Lucile Delay traditionally make a beautiful red wine from grapes from their best vineyards. Family business Domaine du Bon Remède competes with more expensive established names with the as yet undiscovered La Grange Delay.
The wine is made from 70% grenache and 30% syrah from a high hilltop plot in the village of Mazan near Mont Ventoux. Frédéric bought this very well located vineyard in 2010 and upgrades his domain to one of the best in the region. The vines are on average over 45 years old and have a low yield of 35 hectoliters per hectare.
After a gentle crushing, the grapes ferment and soak for almost five weeks followed by a short aging in small oak casks. The result is a powerful concentrated and spicy red wine with good aging potential. This is a spectacular quality wine from the southern Rhône!
