Red wine from the Mendoza
In recent years, organic producer Chakana has focused on making a different style of red wine. They pick the grapes a little earlier, harvest from vineyards at increasingly higher altitudes and let the wines ripen in oak for less time.
The result is that the style is less 'thick' and creamy and has more elegance, freshness and drinkability. That is good news for sommeliers, because this 'modern' style combines very well with refined dishes. For lovers of powerful and full red, however, we have put together a wine with Chakana's cellar master Gabriel Bloise that combines the best of the two styles.

Organic from Argentina
The Cueva de las Manos has that typical, seductive scent of ripe Malbec with new oak, but is significantly less 'sweet' and heavy than the style of many mass producers. It has become a successful wine that goes well with a nice dish, but is also smooth enough to drink just like that.
Drink at
Refined red wine to combine with, for example, roast duck, grilled vegetable dish or beef tenderloin stew.
Tasting note
Ruby red wine with a striking scent of cherry, blackcurrant, toast and spices (laurel and pepper). Deliciously fruity and juicy in taste with supple tannins and a balanced freshness. The final is lingering with subtle oak.
