Description
Chakana is a small family business in Mendoza, Argentina, with a strong European influence. The originally Italian owner Juan Pelizzatti has opted for a distinctive wine style together with the Italian advisor and winemaker Alberto Antonini. Chakana's flagship comes from vineyards from Luján de Cuyo, the 'Haut-Médoc' of Argentina, and the high and cool Uco.
Of course, the Malbec grapes are picked manually and the yield is low. After fermentation - spontaneously by natural yeast - this beautiful, elegant malbec remains for eighteen months in a mix of new and one-year-old oak casks. The wood dosage is refined, which clearly distinguishes the wine from many bombastic Argentinian wines. To enjoy!
