Description Peyredon Lagravette
The Peyredon Lagravette vineyard is located in the Haut-Médoc, bordered by its famous neighbors Château Poujeaux, Chasse Spleen and Maucaillou.
Owner Stéphane Dupuch cultivates only 4.2 hectares (the smallest cru bourgeois in Bordeaux!), planted with sixty-year-old vines of cabernet sauvignon (60%) and merlot. He picks all the grapes by hand and keeps them separate per plot, so that the plot-related grapes ferment together in the small cellar.
This is followed by maturation of fourteen to sixteen months in small wooden casks (oak and acacia), of which approximately 1/3rd is renewed annually. The domain has a small production of only 2,100 cases, but the quality is so impressive that the wine tastes good and very accessible even when young.
