Red wine from Saint Drezery
Beautiful and complex red wine with an aroma of ripe red fruit, mild herbs and a touch of oak. The flavor structure is full, balanced and with a nice balance in the final with ripe tannins.
Known for Puech Haut Argali Rose
Château Puech-Haut is the success story of Gérard Bru. He expanded the parental estate, some 15 kilometers northeast of Montpellier, into one of the leading Languedoc producers. Decanter magazine mentions Puech-Haut in the same breath as the best southern French domains such as Mas de Daumas Gassac, Grange des Pères and Peyre Rose. Advisory winemaker is Philippe Cambie, known for his important influence on the style of the top companies in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The red Prestige is a beautiful terroir-type wine made from mainly hand-picked Grenache and 40% Syrah grapes from 45 to even 80 year old vines. The grapes ferment in concrete vats and the wine matures for 12 months in the same vats. However, a small part (1/5th) of the syrah remains in oak barrels of 1 and 2 years old, which gives a refined and discreet wood influence to this special and classic Languedoc wine. Classic Languedoc because the taste of dark fruit, herbs, slightly peppery and garrigues dominates and not the caramel tones of new oak maturation. The wine tastes powerful with beautifully matured tannins, complexity and has a beautiful final. Culinary at its best with dishes such as grilled duck breast, red meat, lamb or a cheese board with baguette. Tastes best, as with many top wines, at classic room temperature (16 to 18˚C).
