Tasting note Sauternes

Beautiful sweet wine, full yellow in color and complex in scent with apricot, pineapple, light oak and botrytis. The taste is full, powerful and sweet and ends with a nice freshness in the aftertaste.

Description

With Premier Grand Cru Classé status, Château Suduiraut is one of the best producers in the famous Sauternes region. The main wine is masterful and highly sought after in top gastronomy, but unfortunately also expensive. Since the 2009 harvest, Suduiraut has also been making a very affordable second wine from 96% semillon and 4% sauvignon grapes, with a more accessible and fruity taste. The grapes, as is the case with the main wine, are affected by noble rot that provides the special and very characteristic, concentrated taste. After the long fermentation, maturation follows in small oak barrels. In our opinion, this Sauternes is very successful! It has a full sweet taste with fresh nuances and a truly minute aftertaste.
