Description
The small Château Tour du Moulin is located in Fronsac, one of Bordeaux's most underrated regions. Where the wines here used to be rather stiff and tannic, now they produce balanced and round wines. This is thanks to winemakers such as Vincent Dupuch, a respected grapevine expert and advisor to many of the top châteaux in Saint-Émilion and Pomerol.
Dupuch has things more than well organized on his own 17-acre winery, located just a few miles from the 'gold coast' of Bordeaux's famous right bank. He also has the skill to make concentrated and at the same time smooth red wine.
For this you need first-class grapes. In this case, they are merlot (80%), cabernet franc (15%) and a little bit of cabernet sauvignon. The fermentation is followed by a maturation of almost two years in one-year-old casks.
The result is a classic red Bordeaux of high quality, with beautiful, soft tannins, characteristic scents of ripe dark fruit and beautifully dosed oak. Perfect to combine with grilled red meat, poultry and mild cheeses. Drinks well now and keeps well for ten to twelve years after harvest. Highly recommended!
