Tasting note Coudoulet Pinot Gris

Dry white Pinot Gris from the Langedoc. Pale yellow color. Flawless scent with notes of pear, melon and ripe apple. Beautifully full and juicy in structure with a fresh nuance and mild finish. Delicious drinks wine and ideal to serve with light (fish) dishes and summer salads. Can be kept at least two years after harvest.

Description

Pinot gris has many forms and areas of origin. From light, thin-tasting Italian slops to rich, sweet Alsatians. Fortunately, this grape is also growing in the Languedoc, where conditions appear to be ideal. Camille Ournac makes a dry white wine that really appeals to us.
The grape vines on the 'Le Loup' plot are now 12 years old and deliver wonderful quality.

The grapes are harvested at night, left to soak with the skins for 24 hours and then fermented. The wine then remains in contact with the spent yeast cells ('sur lie'), being stirred regularly for 3 months. This technique is called 'bâtonnage' and provides a delicious juiciness with extra complexity. The mild taste with a fresh nuance will be widely appreciated.
