Impressive, oak-aged Rhôneblend | |
An opportunity not to be missed: gone = gone! |
A Concert on your tongue!
Compared to the more serious Maestro Blue, the Concerto is a bit smoother and more like the fruit. The fragrance is a true symphony of cherries and blackberries complemented by a peppery, spicy touch and seductive oak. In the taste, the Concerto is harmonious, full and soft, with a spectacular finale. In short, a beautiful variation on a classic theme, and that for a super competitive price!
Stellenbosch Blend Rhône at its best.
The advantage of the warm, personal relationship we maintain with our wineries is that we can sometimes offer something very special. For example, Stellenboschdomein DeMorgenzon occasionally bottles a Limited Release especially for us.
Until now, the Limited Releases have always been white, made from cuvées that just didn't make it into the popular luxury Maestro White or Reserve prestige wines. With Concerto, winemaker Adam Mason of DeMorgenzon introduces the first red Limited Release, a blend of wine barrels that were actually intended for the luxurious red Maestro Blue.
Like the Maestro Blue, this Concerto is a Rhône blend. It is a particularly successful composition of grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, durif (also called petite sirah) and a tiny bit of viognier, according to old usage in the Northern Rhône.
Don't miss it, because as the name suggests, this wine is only available in limited quantities. Available from the end of March.
