Blend of Syrah and Grenache
The Domaine Alary is no stranger to the municipality of Cairanne. Long before the existence of appellation legislation, the Alary family started making wine about three hundred years ago. The wines in the municipality of Cairanne can be counted among the best in the entire Rhône region. This Font dEstevenas is a Rhône Villages with the Cairanne appellation and is made from approximately 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 20% of the fairly rare Counoise grape. Some Grenache vines are more than 100 years old and therefore provide a low yield of very high quality.
