Tasting note Beaumont Sauvignon Fie Gris
Pleasantly scented sauvignon gris with fresh fruit tones of green apple and light boxwood. The juicy, mildly dry taste starts round and fresh and develops balanced and aromatic.
Description
The most remarkable wine in the Domaine La Tour Beaumont collection is made from the rare fié gris, a local name for the sauvignon gris. This grape variety, cousin of the internationally famous sauvignon blanc, owes its name to its slightly pinkish skin.
Like sauvignon blanc, fié gris produces a fresh, dry, aromatic white wine, but with a characteristic, slightly smoky nuance. With its fresh, pure, refined character, this wine is very suitable as an aperitif. At the table, it is a perfect match with fresh salads or light fish or chicken dishes. Surprisingly different, and yet unmistakably white Loire. Best in taste within 2 years of the harvest.
