Description
Aristos means 'best' in Ancient Greek and is therefore an appropriate name for this series of prestige bottlings from the Northern Italian cooperative Eisacktal. The grapes for the Aristos wines come from the best terroirs in the highest vineyards (up to 970 meters above sea level).
These vineyards are maintained with the greatest care by the members of the cooperative - quality is of paramount importance to Eisacktal. Due to the steep and high location, harvesting is done exclusively by hand. The aromatic white Kerner grape is the specialty in the Eisacktal.
Once in the cellar, winemaker Hannes Munter ferments the juice in stainless steel tanks after pressing. He then matures the wine for another ten months on fine yeasts, partly in stainless steel tanks, partly in large wooden barrels.
The result is a special and characterful white wine, with a distinctly fragrant aroma and a full, intense and juicy taste. It is particularly gastronomic - think of fish, poultry or white meat, but also asparagus, spicy dishes or creamy cheeses - and can also age well in the bottle.
