Description

Kellerei Eisacktal is known for its beautifully pure, elegant white mountain wines from Valle Isarco (Eisacktal) in Alto Adige (Süd-Tirol). The Pinot Grigio from this cooperative is a particularly successful interpretation of this popular Italian grape.

The grapes are harvested in vineyards at an altitude of about 500 to 700 meters, with clay-like soils. The Pinot Grigio grapes are at their best in this terroir.

After the grapes are hand-picked on the steep slopes, they are gently pressed in the cellar by winemaker Hannes Munter. This is followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to ensure a juicy, fruit-rich wine. After a short maturation on the yeasts, the wine is bottled.

The Pinot Grigio is a beautifully pure, excitingly fresh white wine, with a subtle aroma of peach and green herbs and a full taste with juicy acidity and almond in the aftertaste. A delicious wine to drink on its own or to combine with many dishes, such as insalata caprese, risotto primavera or pasta with smoked chicken.
