Description
The originally French grape variety Sauvignon Blanc may have been present in Alto Adige for about a century, but Sauvignon was only introduced much more recently in Valle Isarco (Eisacktal). Yet this beautiful specimen from the Eiasacktal cooperative tastes as if the growers and winemaker Hannes Munter have had decades of experience with this grape. What a particularly beautiful Sauvignon interpretation!
The grapes are picked by hand in steep, high-altitude vineyards (450-750 meters) with southeastern exposure. Thanks to the warm days and cool nights, the grapes can ripen beautifully without losing their fresh and aromatic character.
Once in the cellar, the grapes are gently pressed and fermentation and maturation follow the precipitated yeasts in stainless steel tanks. It produces a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc, with a pronounced aroma of citrus fruit, grassy and green herbs, and a lively fresh, yet full and ripe taste. A stylish aperitif, but certainly also a beautiful meal accompaniment.
