Description
The Eisacktal (Valle Isarco in Italian), in the northern Italian wine region of Alto Adige, is known for its pure, cool white mountain wines. The Kellerei Eisacktal cooperative is also considered one of the leading producers. Taste this beautiful, juicy Weissburgunder.
Eisacktal sources Weisburgunder grapes (pinot bianco in Italian) from steep slope vineyards in the lower part of Valle Isarco. Lower location between quotes, because the vineyards are still at an altitude of 500 to 750 meters. This is where the Weissburgunder comes into its own. Due to the steep and high location, the grapes are picked by hand.
Once in the cellar, a simple vinification follows: after the soft pressing, the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature to obtain the fruitiest and juiciest wine possible. After a short maturation on the yeasts, the wine is bottled.
It produces a refined Weissburgunder, with a subtle scent of apple, pear and peach. What is striking is the combination of a ripe, rich and creamy taste, and at the same time stimulating fresh acidity and a fine juiciness. Drink this beautiful mountain wine as a luxurious aperitif, or with light fish dishes.
