Fratelli Seghesio Barolo 2019

Bright red in colour with some development. Spicy, slightly matured in the nose with black fruit such as blackberries and currants. The taste is full, round with mild tannins and ends with a fragrant, persistent aftertaste.

 

The Seghesio family owns approximately 10 hectares of naturally cultivated vineyards in the hills of Monforte d'Alba. Four hectares of these are planted with Nebbiolo vines that are over 50 years old and are entitled to the Barolo designation of origin. The hand-picked grapes are spontaneously fermented. The wine is then aged in large Slovenian barrels and smaller French Allier oak barrels. The house style is characterised by the refinement of the wine and the suppleness of the tannins. This makes this Barolo very suitable for the cellar, but also very tempting now - especially if you decant it.
