Viognier from South Africa? And how! This oak-aged white wine from our Stellenbosch domain DeMorgenzon is a must for every Viognier enthusiast. It is made by the talented Carl van der Merwe, whose impressive wines receive one top rating after another in the South African Platter's Guide and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

 

The Viognier grapes for this wine come exclusively from our own vineyards. Carl uses part in the blend for his famous luxury white Maestro. He now bottles the part that remains as a DMZ Limited Release especially for us.

You already understand: this wine is what you call a godsend. The luxurious wood aging gives this Viognier a powerful, full and rich taste - and that for a very modest price. Due to its floral and fruity character, you can combine this aromatic dry white wine well with slightly spicy dishes from, for example, Indian, Thai or Vietnamese cuisine. But also just like that it's fantastic!
