Description
The Les Blondins vineyard has been owned since 1992 by Stéphane Sérol and Michel Troisgros, from the world famous restaurant in Roanne. This small plot of 1.9 hectares of slope vineyard has a south exposition and is planted with the gamay saint romain. In the 3 Michelin star restaurant this organic, fruity and 'mineral' red wine is served with a personalized Troisgros label. The appellation of origin is AOP Côte Roannaise and is located less than 100 kilometers west of Lyon, at the foot of the Massif Central. The wine region with its typical granite soil is part of the Loire region and has an excellent reputation in French gastronomy. The grapes from the Les Blondins vineyard are harvested by hand and ferment with the natural yeast in cement cuves. The gamay saint romain is smaller and firmer than the gamay used in the Beaujolais and gives a wine with more color and structure. After fermentation, the 'Les Blondins' ripens for 6 months in cement cuves and is then bottled after a light filtration.
