Scheurebe expressive and crystal clear
Exciting fresh-dry white wine with expressive, crystal-pure aromas of grapefruit, pineapple and green herbs. Wonderfully juicy, refreshing and refined in taste.
A wonderfully fresh dry white wine
The Thörle brothers owe their reputation mainly to their fantastic red Spätburgunders and white Rieslings and Silvaners from Rheinhessen. However, the two also have at their disposal a small plot of 'alte Reben' from the lesser known white krabebe in the 'grand cru' Schlossberg. Father Thörle had planted them in the 1980s in the search for exciting, new wines. They make it deliciously thirst-quenching fresh-dry white especially for us.
Special, because krabebe is mainly used for sweet wines. Just like the Riesling grape, this German cross of Riesling and Bukettraube also has an aromatic character and naturally fresh acids that can provide a nice counterbalance to the sweetness. Slowly but surely, more and more producers are discovering that you can also make great, intensely fragrant dry wines from this grape.
Christoph and Johannes prove this with this very successful variant. The brothers themselves call this wine the German answer to the international Sauvignon Blanc. Ideal to enjoy in spring and summer. Given its expressive, slightly exotic scent and wonderfully fresh, mild and juicy taste, we completely agree with the brothers. Bring on those sunny terraces!
