Description
He proves once again that Arjolles winemaker François Teisserenc knows how to make great wines by blending Bordeaux and Rhône grapes with this impressive Arlequin, the showpiece of the family winery. The wine is made from twelve unique barrels, with twelve unique wines. With exceptionally beautiful results!
François harvests the sustainably grown grapes – Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache – in the first two weeks of October. He makes twelve different batches, each vinified in its own unique way. Using fermentation in whole bunches, for example, or with destemmed grapes. By cold peel soaking or by peel soaking at a higher temperature.
François then ages the twelve unique wines for twelve to fourteen months in twelve different barriques of French oak of the highest quality. Some barrels are new, others used. They also come from three different tonneliers, each with their own signature.
This special method produces an extremely refined and concentrated red wine, with notes of dark fruit, spices, licorice and clear toast aromas from the oak. For example, combine the Arlequin with a steak, leg of lamb or a game dish.
If you drink it relatively young, we advise you to decant the wine at least four hours in advance. Or feel free to let it mature in the bottle for a few more years for extra complexity, because this impressive Languedoc can handle that very well!
