Marchi in Italy
Paolo de Marchi is considered one of the best winemakers in the world. He is faithful to the original Chianti style. In his case, Chianti consists mainly of Sangiovese (80%) and Canaiolo. At Isole e Olena, his beautifully situated wine estate in the heart of Chianti Classico, he mainly makes wines with grape expression.
So here no bombastic style with thick oak but just a beautiful result of low yield Sangiovese vines with the emphasis on pure and ripe fruit. A top wine that is rightly named by the wine magazine Proefschrift as one of the best wines from the region (with no less than 95 out of 10 points for the 2012 harvest).
