Description
Domaine Alain Gras is located in Saint Romain between the famous wine villages of Meursault and Pommard. In the past, this village was avoided because the grapes, on the highest plots in Burgundy, often did not ripen enough. The location has now turned into a major advantage. The grapes do ripen as a result of the warming and the combination with the rocky subsoil produces wines with minerality, freshness and elegance, the sought-after characteristics of cool-climate wines.
Alain and his son show it in this beautiful, fresh Pinot Noir from more than 35 year old vines. All vineyards are processed according to the Terra-Vitis guidelines, a rational alternative to the organic certificate. After fermentation, it is matured for 12 months in small oak barrels, 15% of which are renewed annually.
