Description
Lytton Springs is a famous single vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, with vines up to 100(!) years old. The plants grow as unguided 'bush vines' low to the ground. The poor siliceous and clayey soil ensures naturally low yields (average 30 hl/ha) and excellent concentration in the grapes.
Lytton Springs is a blend of mostly Zinfandel, supplemented with small amounts of Petite Sirah, Carignane and Mataro (Mourvèdre) for added complexity. After fermentation, the wine matures for fourteen months in small casks of first-, second- and third-year American oak.
