Description
The Old Brick Factory Syrah is an impressive, full and silky red Syrah with nine months of maturation in new French oak barrels. This is a special red wine from grapes from 30-year-old Syrah vines in a plot at approximately 800 meters altitude. This piece of vineyard used to be a brick factory; the remains are still clearly visible.
The grapes are not picked until mid-October, which is exceptionally late for this southern Spanish region. They are then given plenty of time to ripen perfectly, resulting in creamy tannins. The characteristic, spicy aroma of ripe Syrah grapes combined with barrel maturation is very seductive. The full, supple flavour makes this Syrah very suitable for outside of a meal. It also combines fantastically with grilled and seasoned meat from the barbecue or a cheese platter and baguette.
