Description
What a nice glass of red, this Tempranillo from Tierra Nativa! Characteristic and recognizable Spanish, but also made in a modern, juicy and drinkable style.
The winemaker behind this series of contemporary wines is Jorge Pradillo. He makes his wines in La Mancha, in the village of Villanueva de Alcardete. Although the climate in the Spanish interior is hot and continental, Jorge still manages to harvest his organically grown grapes while retaining freshness and aroma. This is due to the high and at the same time cool location of the vineyards, at about 725 meters above sea level.
Once in the cellar, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve as much of the fruitiness as possible in the wine. No animal products are used during the vinification, which also makes the wine suitable for vegans.
Jorge's craftsmanship produces a wonderfully juicy Tempranillo with ripe cherry fruit and a hint of spiciness. Drink this smooth Spaniard just as it is, with some tapas, or with grilled vegetables or spicy meat dishes.
Drink at
Slightly chilled excellent terrace wine, also good to combine with barbeque and grilled dishes.
Tasting note
Full red in color, fruity and mildly spicy in scent with cherries and some vanilla. Round, smooth taste with a touch of tannin in the fragrant aftertaste.
