Description
The climate in California is nowhere as diverse as in the Monterey wine region. You will find no less than four different climate zones, from relatively cool to quite warm.
Granite Coast Vineyards is one of the region's leading producers and owns vineyards in a variety of microclimates. This allows the winery to make various wine styles from different grape varieties.
The grapes for this elegant Pinot are grown sustainably in the cooler northern part of Monterey. The conditions here are perfect for the early maturing pinot noir. Once harvested, the grapes are rigorously selected and destemmed. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures in a mix of new and neutral French oak barrels.
It produces a silky, elegant Pinot Noir with a beautiful balance between ripe fruit, fresh acidity and well-dosed oak. With its notes of red fruit, forest soil and toast, this is a wonderful accompaniment to, for example, dishes with mushrooms or creamy white mold cheeses.
Drink at
Elegant, fruity red wine to drink preferably slightly chilled. Delicious as a salad with duck, grilled chicken, cannelloni with mushrooms or ripe white mold cheeses.
Tasting note
Light ruby red wine with an open scent of cherry, red currant, rosehip and bay leaf. Elegant style Pinot Noir with jammy red fruit, beautiful freshness and fine tannins in the taste. The finale is smooth with sweet and sour cherry and toast.
