Description
Beautiful vineyards along the river Orbiel, vintners with extensive experience in the region and internationally renowned winemaker Hugh Ryman (of Château de la Jaubertie in Bergerec). These are the ingredients for the successful Orbiel & Frères label.
The grapes for this seductive Chardonnay come from vineyards around the city of Carcassone and Minervois. The farmers deliberately keep yields low to ensure a nice concentration of flavor in the wine.
Once in the cellar, Ryman ensures rapid processing of the grapes: after pressing, fermentation follows at a cool temperature in stainless steel tanks, aimed at preserving as much fruit as possible. A short maturation follows the yeasts, which are occasionally stirred for extra flavor intensity.
This Orbiel Chhardonnay is therefore wonderfully accessible and fruity, with a perfect combination of ripe, almost tropical fruit and sufficient freshness. Warmly recommended as a house wine - especially given the competitive price.
