Description
The Danish brothers Tofterup make beautiful Spanish wines, but with their own twist. Take this La Orphica for example. A real Spanish rosado, made from traditional Spanish grapes garnacha and bobal. But with a – by Spanish standards – remarkably light salmon-pink colour.
To make an elegant style rosé, with freshness and juicy fruit, the Tofterups harvest the ripe grapes in the early morning, when the grapes are still cool. Once harvested, they are immediately processed in the cellar, to preserve as much of the freshness and aroma as possible.
The grapes are pressed in whole bunches, so that there is as little contact as possible between the juice and the skins. This keeps the color nice and light. Fermentation and short maturation take place in stainless steel tanks, again with the aim of preserving the fragrant, fresh character of the wine.
And that was without a doubt successful. The La Orphica is a beautiful, balanced rosado, which is very Spanish and beautifully refined in smell and taste. Drink it as a drink or at the table, for example with fish tacos, dishes with chicken or seafood paella.

Tasting note
Light salmon pink wine with fragrant aromas of raspberry, strawberry, peach and grapefruit. Accessible and beautifully juicy with small red fruit in the taste, mild acidity and an elegant finish.
