Description
Château La Cardonne is a special Bordeaux domain in many respects. The history of the château goes back to the eighteenth century. Since 1932 it has been awarded the Cru Bourgeois classification and later the winery was rightly promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.
The domain was owned by Baron Rothschild-Lafite for more than seventeen years - which is still reflected in the beautiful, classic label. The wine has been made there for over twenty years by Magali Guyon, the former winemaker of Château Lynch-Bages.
And finally, the vineyards of La Cardonne are located on the highest plateau of the Médoc. This cool location offers a great advantage with the increasingly warmer climate and ensures harmonious, refined wines. There are plenty of reasons to discover this beautiful Médoc!
The wine is a blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, aged in French oak barrels. Another special feature is that the wine is matured in the cellar of the château and is only released on the market when Scottish patron Andrew McInnes deems the wine ready to drink. If you want to drink excellent Bordeaux for a very modest price, you would do well to try La Cardonne!
