Description
Quinta da Romaneira, under the same management as the legendary Quinta do Noval, specializes in both port and red and white Douro wines. This delicious white is made almost entirely from grapes harvested in the Pulga vineyard.
The boal, viosinho and rabigato are picked separately, so that each variety can mature optimally. The grapes are also processed separately in the cellar. After pressing, the juice ferments in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new. The wine then matures for another four months on the yeasts, which are stirred regularly for more flavour intensity.
And you can taste that in the beautiful Pulga: it is a full, creamy white wine, with a pronounced taste and a lot of depth. The fresh acids keep it perfectly balanced. A beautiful wine for at the table, for example with creamy fish dishes or risotto.
Drinking at
Mouth-filling, creamy wine with a lot of depth. Gastronomically versatile, such as with a salad with mango and walnuts, risotto with crayfish, fried sole with raisin-lentil salsa or mild red mold cheeses.
Tasting note
Light lemon yellow with fragrant aromas of nectarine, apricot, pear, vanilla and anise. The taste is intense, full and unctuous with ripe yellow fruit and mild acids. Long finish with nuances of hazelnut and butter.
