Description

Biodynamicist Niki Moser makes all his wines with heart and soul, but the Ried Gänstreiberin Riesling has an extra special place in his heart.

Ried Gänstreiberin is a tiny plot of 0.6 hectares, which is fully owned by Sepp Moser and can therefore be called a monopole. It is also the vineyard where Niki prefers to spend his time.

The plot is located in the Erste Lage Gebling and has a dizzying slope of 50%. The vineyards are planted in terraces, with an orientation to the south and southwest.

Once picked, Niki lets the peels soak briefly in the juice. He then ferments the juice and ages the wine for a year in large Austrian oak barrels. It produces a pure, energetic and layered Riesling, with notes of pear, ginger and almond and an intense, long-lasting taste.

With its elegant and complex character, this Riesling is perfect to serve at the table. Niki's suggestions? All kinds of crustaceans, or crispy Asian-style duck.

Drink with
Beautiful, gastronomic, dry white wine to enjoy on its own or with refined dishes. Ideal with shellfish, trout with snow peas, ham with mustard cream or young, hard cheeses.

Tasting note
Lemon yellow wine with a complex scent of yellow flowers, ripe apple, pear, apricot, smoke and honey. The taste is powerful and intense with ripe yellow fruit and a beautiful freshness. Long finale with nuances of mandarin, ginger and almond.
