Ripe and fruity white with a beautiful filling and invigorating freshness |
Description
Rías Baixas may be the most famous wine region in Galicia, but Ribeiro is the oldest appellation in the region and even one of the first in all of Spain to be recognized with DO status. Ribeiro particularly excels in white wines from local grapes such as Treixadura, Godello, Albariño, Loureiro and Lado.
This beautiful Varietal from the modern family estate Ramón do Casar is a blend of treixadura, albariño and godello and captures the essence of Ribeiro in a bottle. The wine is also the calling card of the house. The grapes grow in our own vineyards in Castrelo de Miño, on poor, granite soils.
They are harvested by hand and processed separately per plot in the wine cellar. After destemming and cool fermentation, a short maturation with the yeasts follows. Finally, the separate barrels are blended and the wine bottled.
This produces a beautiful white Ribeiro, with a seductive scent of stone fruit and honey and a characteristic ripe, full and soft, but also stimulatingly fresh taste. Wine with character and a real Spanish specialty.
And the beautiful label? This depicts the emigration from Galicia in the 1940s and 1950s. This is also the story of Ramón Gonzalez, the spiritual father of this special winery. He emigrated to Venezuela in 1955 and eventually returned to finally realize his dream. He bought the land, his son Xabier did the rest.
Drink with
Delicious, dry white wine for solo drinking and can be used for many gastronomic purposes. Pairs well with Flemish-style mussels, squid with arugula and lime, tempura of prawns and parsnips or soft cheeses.
Tasting note
Light lemon yellow wine with a refined scent of white flowers, quince, peach and nectarine. Intensely juicy with pure fruit and an invigorating freshness. The finale is elegant and persistent.
