Domaine Robert Sirugue Bourgogne Aligoté Augustin 2023

The first thing Marie-France Sirugue and her brother Jean-Louis purchased when they took over their father's wine company in 2000 as the fourth generation was a sorting table. Ripe, undamaged grapes are very important for those who want to make really good wine. And that is what these brother and sister do, on almost 12 hectares of vineyards in a special place: Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits (Burgundy).

After the grapes have passed the sorting table, they still await a long process of fermentation, soaking and maturing in partly used, partly new wooden barrels at Domaine Sirugue. The best wines are left alone during the entire maturation period, so that they do not lose any of their beautiful aroma. They go into the bottle pure and unfiltered.

This working method says something about the dedication of the Sirugue family. “My brother practically lives in the vineyard,” Marie-France likes to say. Jean-Louis 'does' the vineyards and the vinification; Marie-France is responsible for the organization and sales. Together they provide juicy, fruity wines that are distinguished by fine, soft tannins. Father Robert has laid the foundation, but brother and sister are busy surpassing him with the striking quality and drinkability of their wines.
