An elegant Merlot as Merlot should be
Elegant and refined red wine with a complex aroma of ripe fruit, spicy herbs and a light oak touch. The perfect companion for refined game or lamb.
Trentino Alto Adigo
With its fifty hectares of biodynamically cultivated vineyards near Lake Kaltern (Lago di Caldaro), wine producer Manincor belongs to the absolute top of Alto Adige in Northern Italy. One of the most beautiful red wines that owner Michael Goëss-Enzenberg makes is undoubtedly the Cassiano, a beautiful and refined blend of six different grape varieties.
The merlot (50%) cabernet franc (30%) and each 5% of cabernet sauvignon petit verdot tempranillo (!) And syrah come from south-eastern slopes facing the lake. Very special is that the wooden casks are made from oak from the own estate. This cut oak from Alto Adige is dried in the open air for three years and emphasizes the great refinement of the wine that is aged for eighteen months in these casks.
In our opinion, Cassiano is a great wine with silky tannins and an elegance and drinkability that are not easy to match. Pour the wine into a large wine glass and make the most of the beautiful aromas.
