Five Generations of David Nieuwoudt

David Nieuwoudt is currently the 5th generation owner of this beautiful winery in the northern part of South Africa. The vineyards are located in the Cederberg area of the same name at an altitude of over 1000 meters. The cool and very remote location results in a virus free vineyard. The wines of Cederberg are distinguished by elegance and purity of fruit aromas and flavors and wholesale in medals.

Chenin Blanc is the white grape of South Africa. Usually riper and softer in taste than the dry white wines from the French Loire region of origin. The Cederberg chenin is modernly made from early picked and cool fermented grapes. The young wine remains on the yeast for about five months after fermentation for extra fullness and suppleness.
