JP Brun Beaujolais Blanc
Dry white wine with a refined aroma of ripe yellow fruit, slightly toast and light oak. The taste is round, full and balanced and ends freshly aromatic.
Beaujolais White
White Beaujolais, does that exist? Yes and how! Jean-Paul Brun makes a stunningly beautiful wine that embarrasses many expensive white Burgundies. The hand-picked chardonnay grapes come from Brun's best plots. They undergo 'vinification bourguignonne': fermentation in oak barrels of at least one year old and bâtonnage (maturing and stirring of yeast residues).
The result is a complex, full dry white Beaujolais, with a discreet aroma of oak and a lot of finesse. The drinkability is striking for a wine with so much flavor. This is partly because Jean-Paul Brun does not use chaptalization - a process in which sugar is added to the grape juice that has not yet fermented in order to achieve a higher alcohol percentage.
This striking winemaker also naturally believes in the positive properties of natural yeast and limits filtration and fining to a minimum. A wine with little frills, but with all the more character.
